Thank you.

It seems Merra-Lee is associated with fond memories for customers as well as for those of us who’ve worked here.  I know Halloween just won’t be the same to me without Clifford in our alcove terrorizing…I mean handing out candy to adorable Trick-or-Treaters.

tea-partyWe always had such fun partying with our customers at special events, like the NAOT V.I.P. Royal-Tea party,  and being serenaded by the Merry Carolers throughout the shops during Christmas walk—they’ll be back this year!

Being a plus size I dreaded looking for a dress. The large department stores had nothing to offer. I should have started at the East Room.

The day I came to the store it was very busy. The salesperson was attentive and professional and instantly knew what would look good on me. Having the dress, shoes, purse,  jewelry and even undergarments at one store was very convenient.

I want to applaud the East Room for the excellent  customer service. They made my shopping experience pleasant.

This Spring I needed a long formal black skirt and tried the East Room. What service! You bent over backwards to find me a lovely outfit and alterations were a snap. I love the little touches you provide: large dressing rooms with seating, shoes in every heighth and size to try on, beverages, and best of all,on site alterations. I felt as though I had visited a big city boutique with exceptionally helpful employees.

Thanks for helping me when I was in the store recently.  The tops you put together to wear with my linen pants looked perfect, and I found a great necklace and earrings at The Little Traveler to go with.  They featured items from the Fresh Produce line in their fashion show that day, and I just happened to be wearing my lavender crop pants and tee.  It got to be a joke after a while, as every time I went into a different department I received a compliment on my outfit from one of the clerks.

Thanks, too, for the coupon!  I’ll look for you when I come in to spend it — in fact, I’ll probably call ahead to see what days you work!

You were so nice when I bought my dress at the East Room last October and then my sister and daughter-Damianou-imagein-law were there in December and Audrey bought the black skirt and white jacket and Jennifer bought the red dress, and the three of us were among the “best dressed women” at my grandson’s wedding in St. Louis, February7!!

Audrey also bought the earrings that you showed me at the time I tried on the dress.  I really felt elegant wearing the dress, and the Hollywood Tape worked fine for the jacket.  I intend to wear it again in November when I am on a Mexican Riviera cruise.

If I ever pass through Geneva again, I will be sure to stop in and visit you.  Thanks again for your excellent service.

I was overwhelmed by your response to my new watch that didn’t work!  I work in retail and have been at Tilles Interiors in Munster, Indiana for twenty-five years as an interior designer, and service is our high priority.  Your coupon was such a lovely gesture, but I was blown away by your sending he fabulous watch which is jut my taste.

Six of us from the area make a yearly trip to Geneva in June, and we always stop at Merra-Lee and have many things from your shop.  I can’t wait to spread the word as to your kindness.  I have a furniture rep who lives in St. Charles — and I can’t wait to tell him.

I wanted to let you know about the exceptional service I recently received from several associates at the East Room.  Judy initially assisted me in selecting a beautiful  evening dress for my niece’s wedding.   When I returned for my fitting, I was further  assisted by Martha in accessorizing my dress and Peggy in altering my dress.

What could have been a stressful venture actually turned out to be truly enjoyable time thanks to the wonderful service I received.  I am very happy with all my purchases and look forward to returning to the East Room this upcoming week to pick up my dresses.  I’ve also told my friends about the exceptional service I received and highly recommended the East Room to them.

Dear Mr. Mike Simon:

I wanted to let you know about the excellent experience I had shopping at the East Room. I was buying a gown for my son’s upcoming wedding. I had been to several bridal shops and the department stores, just to see what was out there. The more I looked, the more I dreaded the experience. Yet, I dreamed of finding the perfect dress for the occasion. I wanted to look my best, and make my husband and son proud of me. He is our only child, and  I wanted this shopping opportunity to be special. Well, it was! I decided to go to the East Room as my last stop, hoping it would have “my dress.” I have been shopping at all your shops for years. I have been avidly enjoying  the window displays at the East Room for a long time now! After this disheartening  look through  the department stores and wedding shops,  I had high hopes that the East Room would save me. I was not disappointed!
I had kind, expert, and experienced help from my sales assistant, Judy Blanchard. I tried on dresses at least twice, the second time bringing my husband for help in decision making. The shop arrangement with chairs, and mirrors makes trying on and “modeling” convenient and pleasant. Judy spent alot of time with me during all my visits. Her advice was valuable! I tried on many dresses, starting with the ones I liked. She guided me, and helped me to discern ones that were flattering to me.
When one is young and fit, it is easy to find a dress one looks great in. It is not so easy when one has acquired a few years, a few pounds, and a few figure flaws! Judy was very patient. She gave me her time, put me at ease, and made me feel confident.  She helped me find my dream dress. Slimming, and in a  flattering color. Judy gave me advice regarding foundation garments and accessories. With her expert assistance, I eventually bought shoes, an evening bag, and jewelry at the East Room to complete my outfit. Two of these items she special ordered in the size or color I needed, which I really appreciated.
During my visits, everyone was always helpful and nice. I received many useful suggestions from all the expert staff there. The seamstress, I am sorry I forgot her name, had excellent ideas. When I got the choice down to two dresses, she explained to me which one would be more flattering to my figure.  I look forward to picking up my completed dress. I am sure it will be wonderful.
I now feel confident about the wedding. And after it, I will ask the seamstress to shorten my dress to wear again and again!
In these trying times, I realize that I could have spent a lot less buying a dress online or at a department store.  But I don’t regret it a bit—-this dress was worth every penny. I never would have found “the perfect gown” and outfit without the expert and kind assistance I received from Judy and the highly professional staff  at The East Room.
