Mike, I am certain this was an agonizing decision to make, and I am sure you and the Merra Lee family will end this chapter in history with grace and dignity. I enjoyed the days of working with you and your team on creating exciting shopping environments and I, too am sorry to see the doors close. But we all know that when one door closes another opens and I wish you the very best in all your future endeavors (and of course, The Traveler is a true cornerstone and will undoubtedly survive the most challenging times). My best to all!

Agreed, this is terribly sad news. Every time I come back to the US, I stop in. Petticoat Lane was one of my first jobs as a teen and while it was a job to take seriously, everyone treated you like family, both staff and customers alike. It was a unique place with many happy memories that will be sorely missed.

I am truly saddened by the closing of MerraLee. I have always found unique and fun outfits here and have always received comments and compliments when I wear them. In fac,t I was in the Little Traveler today and had several people comment on my top, which I just purchased from MerraLee two weeks ago. The top and MerraLee became about a 15 minute topic of conversation inside one of the shops of the Little Traveler with several women joining in. I'm sorry to see the store closing.

Hi Mike, sooo sorry to hear this! Your Mom hired me way back in the 70's and I learned pearls go with anything from her!! lol I worked at all the stores at that time and needless to say, spent most of my paycheck on clothes. I remember you as a child running around the stores.....I learned a great work ethic from your folks and Mr. Greenberg! Thank you and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors!! Good luck!

[...] Cut Loose clothing is for women who aren’t willing to sacrifice fashion for comfort and visa versa—that’s why it’s become one of the most popular designers at The Meeting Place. Cut Loose began out of a box on San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf, when two enterprising expatriates decided to bring European flair to California and sold dyed cotton T-shirts and drawstring pants to passers by. Because there were no dressing rooms on the wharf, sizes had to be forgiving, and that tradition continues today but with a much wider variety of styles, which can be dressed up or down, in an array of soothing and fun colors. window.fbAsyncInit = function() { FB.init({appId: "129246677114668", status: true, cookie: true, xfbml: true}); }; (function() { var e = document.createElement("script"); e.async = true; e.src = document.location.protocol + "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js"; document.getElementById("fb-root").appendChild(e); }()); Share: [...]
