Fun Fashion for Feet

September 2nd, 2010

Bright, fun color continues to be important for the fall and winter 2010 season,  and there’s no cozier way to add a splash of color to your wardrobe than with Solmate mismatched socks.  Marianne Wakerlin, a/k/a the Socklady, founder and owner of Solmate Socks, has been knitting since she was nine years old. Marianne continued a life long enthusiasm for knitting, but it wasn’t until she started knitting socks that her real passion was born.

Over the years, Marianne knit over one hundred pairs of socks for family and friends. She then decided to turn her hobby into a business and in the year 2000 Solmate Socks was born. Her colorful and complex patterns are knit in the USA at a family owned knitting mill, hand finished and then “mismatched with care.”  The company is run in a small town in central Vermont, where the Socklady is surrounded and inspired by the woods, brook, gardens and hills of the countryside.

Fun socks aren’t just for snuggling up at home.  The Meeting Place has just received a shipment of colorful and fun trouser socks from Sox Trot, perfect for work or wherever.

Patterns include paisleys, animal prints, geometric, floral, and funky. Colors range from neutrals and blacks to brights and pastels.

Sox Trot trouser socks are made of a cotton, lycra, poly blend for easy comfort and care.
